- Violations
Violators of Valparaiso University parking and traffic regulations will be fined according to the following schedule. More than one violation may be cited and more than one fine assessed per ticket.
To calculate the total charge, add the appropriate violation fee to the fine.

First violation in an academic year 
$10.00 Second violation in an academic year $15.00 Third violation in an academic year $25.00 Forth violation in an academic year $35.00 Fifth and each succeeding violation in an academic year $45.00

*$50 fine will be waived if registration is paid within 7 business daysviolation + $50.00 + $115.00 Falsification on registration form violation + $25.00 + $115.00 Unauthorized transfer of registration violation + $25.00 Parking in zone restricted to disabled violation + $50.00 Parking in fire lane/zone violation + $50.00 Reckless driving or driving left of center violation + $50.00 Disregarding stop sign violation + $25.00 Seat Belt violation violation + $15.00 A sixth violation in an academic year may result in revocation of campus vehicle registration, impoundment of the vehicle and loss of campus driving privileges
Speeding- 1-10 mph over--violation plus fine $15.00
- 11-20 mph over--violation plus fine $25.00
- 21 mph or more over--violation plus fine $40.00
Vehicle Impoundment
Vehicles on Valparaiso University campus may be impounded for violation of campus and state regulations including but not limited to:
- Driving or parking on grass
- Non-registration or a vehicle for which registration has been revoked
- Parking in a fire lane/zone
- Parking in zone restricted to the disabled
- Obstructing traffic and/or creating a safety hazard
- Vehicle abandonment
- Excessive fines
