Matthew Lundin, Ph.D.Lecturer in Humanities and History, Lilly FellowLinwood House B5 Websitehttp://faculty.valpo.edu/mlundin BiographyMatthew Lundin earned his B.A. at Wheaton College, and his A.M. and Ph.D. at Harvard University in history. Lundin's major field is the history of Early Modern Europe, with an emphasis in the social, cultural, and intellectual history of early modern Germany. His dissertation, The Mental world of a Middling Burgher: The Family Archive of Cologne Lawyer Hermann Weinsberg (1518-1597), explores a sixteenth-century Catholic townsman's attempts to make sense of his age's political and religious uncertainty. Prof. Lundin is particularly interested in the print revolution, the history of autobiography and private writing, and the origins of modern conceptions of memory. He is currently researching the theme of memory in the German Reformation, exploring the ways in which Protestant culture challenged the memorial traditions of the Middle EducationB.A. - Wheaton College |
