Scholarship Program
Members of the Valparaiso University Guild enhance the student experience in a variety of ways, one being through providing scholarships to undergraduate students. The scholarship program awards over $50,000 annually.
Scholarships are given to relatives of Guild members who demonstrate financial need, academic accomplishment and extracurricular involvement. Students need only apply once to be considered for all scholarships which they are eligible. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by January 15.
Scholarships are forfeited if the students grade point average (GPA) falls below 2.75, they withdraw from Valparaiso University or if the relative’s membership in the Guild lapses.
Guild Cookbook Scholarship
Awarded to two freshmen students who receive $5,000 per year for four years ($2,500 per semester for eight semesters). This scholarship was created by investing the proceeds from selling 80,000 Guild cookbooks from 1972-2005.
Guild Past National Officers Scholarship
Awarded to two junior students who receive $3,500 per year for two years ($1,750 for four semesters). This scholarship honors the contributions of members who have served the Guild at a national level.
Shirley Jud Scholarship
Awarded to one student who receives $4,000 per year ($2,000 per semester) until graduating (maximum of four years or eight semesters). This scholarship was initiated by the family of Shirley Ayers Jud to recognize her loyal service to the Guild.
