GUILD CAMPUS GIFTS GRANT PROGRAM

The Guild is honored to announce the recipients of the 2008 Guild Campus Gift grants.  $28,305 was awarded to 12 academic or campus departments.  These grants are one way the Guild members benefit the well-being of Valparaiso University students and the campus environment. 

Congratulations to the following recepients:

    • Wireless Internet for Mueller Hall
    • White Boards in Meier Hall
    • Furniture - Kretzmann Lobby
    • SimBaby Funding, requested by the College of Nursing
    • Resident Assistant Collaboration and Resource Room supplies requested by Residential Life
    • Funding for the VU Chorale Carnegie Hall Performance
    • College Mentors for Kids requested by the Education Dept
    • Delta Sigma Pi Concession Stand Equipment used during softball games requested by the College of Business
    • Student Seating Section for Soccer Fields requested by the Athletic Dept
    • Kitchen Appliances for Union Multicultural Room
    • Virtual Social Network funds requested by Information Technology
    • Braille Machine Project funds requested by the College of Engineering

      Over 400 members returned ballots indicating their preferences.  The Guild Board of Directors verified the membership's vote at its meeting in October and announced the results at the Annual Meeting on October 10.

      Campus departments and student organizations are welcome to apply for the 2009 grants using the following timeline.

      Grant Timeline:

      March 31     Applications due
      May             Applications juried by the Guild Board of Directors
      Summer        Members review proposals and return ballot
      September    Tellers tally ballots
      October        Guild Board of Directors reviews results & allocates funds for grants

      . Recipients and non-recipients will learn if the grant proposal has been accepted in October, or before.
      . 2009 grant funds must be spent between October 2009-June 30, 2010.
      . Departments or programs receiving grants will be expected to report to the Guild with information on when and how the grant was used, for future Guild publications.
