LRC - Language Cafe
cafe
German students playing a card game -- auf Deutsch! -- in the café
The Language Café is an integral part to the LRC -- especially if you're thirsting not only for coffee but for conversation in any language!  Students can stop by the café (located in Meier 144) for a cup of Keurig coffee and enjoy international music and satellite programming from around the globe.  You can stay for coffee or purchase a cup on the go.  Just swing by whenever you notice that the half-door is open in room 144.

Not only is the coffee good, but you can know that your 75¢ is being well spent because of our Kiva connection.  In Fall 2010 the LRC staff began sponsoring entrepreneurs in another part of the world in need of a micro loan.  For every cup of coffee we sell, 50¢ will Kivago toward the cost of the coffee itself and 25¢ will go toward fulfilling our year-long committment to supporting a Kiva entrepreneur from a French-, German- or Spanish- speaking part of the world.  Once we hit $25, we contribute to a Kiva-sponosred entrepreneur that the LRC staff selects together.  If you've  purchased a cup of coffee in the café this fall, you have already helped fund a Kiva microloan for Awa Ablowa Quashie!
