Valpo’s undergraduate business programs develop successful leaders with a three-pronged approach:
- General education core: This University-wide core of liberal studies strengthens your business communication and critical thinking skills while introducing you to global cultures and traditions.
- CBA block core: This block of critical core courses gives you an overview of important business principles and tools.
- Major coursework: The major area you study will provide you with the specialized skills needed to successfully enter the business world.
Depending on the major that you choose, you can earn either a Bachelor of Science in Accounting or a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Valpo offers all of the following programs:
Accounting -- Prepares students for careers in private or public accounting.
Finance -- Preparation for management positions involving financial decision-making and investment.
Information and Decision Sciences -- An interdisciplinary major that includes study in operations management, research, statistics, information systems and technology.
International Business -- Strengthening the program are foreign language courses and study abroad.
Management -- Developing leadership skills includes an emphasis on ethical and moral values.
Marketing -- Developing marketing skills to link products, promotions, pricing with customers.
International Business and Global Studies Minor -- A program particularly popular with students in other programs seeking to add a global perspective.
Certificate in Business Spanish -- Preparing students for potential business situations they may encounter with Hispanic customers, employees, and managers.
Business Administration Minor -- A comprehensive course of study in the College of Business Administration for non-business majors who think they may eventually want to seek an MBA degree.
Interdisciplinary Minors -- Interdisciplinary minors that are offered by the various academic units of the University provide additional breadth for business students.
