Partnership Opens Door to Operating Room

A new partnership between Valparaiso University’s College of Nursing and Porter Health System will allow nursing students to gain first-hand experience inside the hospital’s operating rooms, and at the same time help alleviate a shortage of operating room nurses.

A Valparaiso University engineering professor who has won national recognition for his scholarship on ethics and emerging technology has been elected to a leadership position in the American Society of Engineering Education’s Engineering Ethics Division.

A Valparaiso University professor’s research into the creation of Kankakee Sand Islands of Northwest Indiana is lending support to evidence that the first humans to settle the Americas came from Europe, a discovery that overturns decades of classroom lessons that nomadic tribes from Asia crossed a Bering Strait land-ice bridge.
