DESTINATION VALPO VISIT DAYS SCHEDULE

Destination Valpo Days are created for our admitted students to feel what it's like to be a Valparaiso University student; the program runs for a day and a half. Advance registration is required for all events.


2008-2009

  • December 4-5 (Thursday - Friday): For all admitted students
  • January 25-26 (Sunday - Monday): For all admitted students
  • January 29-30 (Thursday - Friday): For students admitted into the College of Arts & Sciences
  • February 12-13 (Thursday - Friday): For all admitted students
  • February 22-23 (Sunday - Monday): For students admitted into the Colleges of Business, Engineering, and Nursing
  • March 29-30 (Sunday - Monday): For all admitted students


Student Schedule

Day One

5:30 p.m. Check-in with your overnight gear. Have dinner with the other admitted students and student hosts as a group. After dinner grab your bags and head to the dorm.

Day Two

8:00 - 11:00 a.m. Business, Engineering, & Nursing programs are in place. Arts & Sciences students have a class/faculty appointment scheduled in their area of interest.
11:10 - 11:50 a.m.

Morning Break choices

  • Chapel—daily student-led worship service
  • Campus Tour (until 12:10)
  • Student Life and FOCUS Orientation Q&A (for students only)
12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Interest Session choices

  • Study Abroad
  • Career Center
12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Lunch in dining hall
1:00 p.m. Homeward bound (optional campus tour offered again)


Parent Schedule

Day One

5:30 p.m. Check-in with students. Have dinner with the other admitted students and student hosts as a group. A Q & A Panel follows. End by 7:30 p.m.

Day Two

9:30 - 10:00a.m. FAFSA Info/Financial Aid Session
10:05 - 10:45 a.m. Panel Session with University Representatives
10:45 - 11:00 a.m. Coffeebreak
11:10 - 11:50 a.m.

Call 1-888-GO-VALPO with credit card information or mail a check payable to Valparaiso University with "visit" noted on memo line.

  • $25 per student and $10 for each guest.

Transportation

If you will be arriving by air, the Coach USA bus (www.busville.com) is available for transportation from O'Hare or Midway airports to nearby Merrillville, Indiana. Other transportation services to the Valparaiso area include the South Shore Line (www.nictd.com), the Greyhound Bus (www.greyhound.com) and the American Limousine Service (www.americanlimo.org).
